Welcome Home Tyngsboro Veteran!

It has come to my attention that you have been recently discharged and living in Tyngsboro.  I am the Town’s Veteran’s Agent and have an office in the town hall.  My hours are Monday thru Friday and I’m available to answer any questions you might have concerning veteran’s benefits.  As veteran’s agent, I am also the keeper of the records for veterans and I encourage you to file a copy of your DD-214 with this office.  One of the most common requests I receive daily is can I help a veteran get a copy of their discharge papers?  Your DD-214 is the most important document that you will ever have.  Veteran’s benefits can only be received if the veteran has this document.

VA offers a wide range of benefits for Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve service members who have participated in Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  We encourage returning veterans to visit VA’S Seamless Transition web site to learn about the VA benefits you have earned and to find links to other federal agencies and organizations that offer related benefits and services.  Please visit www.va.gov .  I can assist you in applying for whatever benefits you’re interested.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts also has a veteran’s benefits program.  Please visit www.mass.gov and click on agencies, then veterans.  If I can help you with any of these benefits, please contact me.  Please note that both web sites that I highlighted have a “women’s veterans” program.

I look forward to meeting you and filing a copy of your DD-214.  The relationship between a veteran’s agent and veteran is CONFIDENTIAL and protected by law.

I’m an avid e-mailer if that works better for you.

Sincerely,

Kevin V. O’Connor
